Florida Natural History:

Lee Pinkerson presents a timeline of Florida natural history through songs she has researched and composed over the years. Beginning with the ancient coral reefs and manatees, and progressing to the tribal cultures that developed in Florida thousands of years ago, her songs awaken our primal memories. As the timeline continues, various exploits of the Spanish, French, English and Americans are described in song, leading up to the present. Lee's compassion for humanity's changing relationship with the environment raises some interesting melodic inquiries into the nature of man.

The acoustic guitar is an ages old folk instrument with its own inherent wisdom, and a down to earth yet ethereal sound. When Lee takes a break from singing, she lets her guitar do the talking, which is really enlightening. Her playing technique is transcendental, improvising in a way that opens the imagination and transports her listeners to the historic place of each song.

In November, 2006, Lee was invited to perform at the Thessaloniki Poetry Festival in Greece, where her song "O'Live" won first place! She also wins awards in guitar competitions at festivals from Florida to Virginia. People commission her to write songs, and she can perform in a variety of musical styles.

Furthering the festive atmosphere, Lee creates jewelry that is a visual expression of her music. Using her guitar sensibilities to shape silver wire, she holds crystal clear notes of quartz into intricate designs that you will love.
