Janice
(Sage) Schultz, 58, of Granby, beloved wife for 30 years
of Richard W. Schultz, Jr., passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, (October 30, 2012) at her home. Born in
Hartford on April 19, 1954, daughter of the late C.
Howard Sage, Jr. and Bernadine (Hedly) Sage, she was a
lifelong resident of Granby and a graduate of Granby
High School, Class of 1972.
After high school, Janice continued her education at
Central Connecticut State University and earned a
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Janice worked for many years at Ensign-Bickford in
Simsbury before taking a position as a dental assistant
at Salmon Brook Dental in Granby. She also owned and
operated her own nail salon, Janice's Fingernail
Factoria in Granby. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed
gardening around her home, jazzercise, aerobics, and
exercising. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach
with her family and friends. Most of all, Janice will be
remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother. She
never missed any of her daughter's sporting events or
activities.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Brittany
Ashley Schultz of Granby; two brothers, Charles H. Sage,
III and his wife Linda of Ellington and Russell C. Sage
and his wife Karen of Niantic; her father-in-law,
Richard W. Schultz, Sr. of Winsted; two brothers-in-law,
William Schultz and his wife Kathleen of Simsbury and
Thomas Schultz and his wife April of Winsted; three
sisters-in-law, Patricia Brown and her husband Joseph of
Avon, Barbara Hood and her husband Gordon of Barkhamsted,
and Carol Antiuk and her husband Keith of East Granby;
four close friends, Betsy Vojt of Bloomfield, Donald
Pellitier of Simsbury, Dallas Savard of Granby, and
Sharon Loomis of Granby; 17 nieces and nephews; and many
great nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4,
1-3 p.m., followed by a funeral service, 3 p.m., at the
Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook
St., Granby. Burial will be private. Her family has
requested that memorial contributions be made to the
Janice Sage Schultz Scholarship Fund, c/o Windsor
Federal Savings, 250 Broad St., Windsor, CT 06095.

Helen Y. Kusio, of Amherst, active
in civic groups and at the Newman Center at the
University at Buffalo, died Thursday in the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care, Cheektowaga, after battling
pancreatic cancer for more than 11 years. She was 58.
Born
in New York City, Ms. Kusio was a 1988 UB graduate.
She was a chartered life underwriter and a financial
planner.
She was president of the Charter Oaks
and Chappelle Villas Condominiums and was active on many
committees. She also was the first president of the
Kiwanis Club of the Boulevard in Amherst.
She was music director at the 9 a.m.
Mass at the UB Newman Center and took part in many
activities there.
Surviving are her mother, Myroslawa;
a sister, Anita Seahaj; and a brother, Theodore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Newman Center, 495
Skinnersville Road, Amherst.

Carlene M. Berube (Cyr) Americk, 54, of Southwick, MA
passed away on June 28, 2009. Formerly of Granby, she was
the daughter of Herman and Carmelle (Berube) Cyr.
She leaves her loving husband of 34 years, Stephen T.
Americk; son, Matthew, of Suffield; daughter and son-in-law
Stephanie and Frank Parnin and their children Mary and
Samantha, also of Suffield; brothers Richard Berube, Leon
and Robert Cyr. A 1972 graduate of Granby High School, she
worked at Travelers Insurance and was a former teaching
assistant at Woodland Elementary School (Southwick). She
enjoyed treasure hunting, birds, gardening and was a
disability rights activist. A loving wife, devoted mother
and proud grandmother, she will be missed tremendously.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m., July 2, Service
from 7:30-8 at Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College HWY,
Southwick, MA. In lieu of flowers Carlene has asked that

Eugene
``Gene'' Stanley Heath, 45, beloved husband of Bonnie
J. (Blair) Heath, of the Poquonock section of Windsor,
died Thursday (Oct. 15, 1998) at a local convalescent
home.
Born in
Biddeford, ME., son of the late Pearl W. and Dorothy
F. (Cummings) Heath, he lived in Granby and Bloomfield
before moving to Windsor ten years ago. Eugene was
employed by Tyco Printed Circuit Group Value Added
System Division, Stafford Springs, and was formerly
employed by Hamilton Standard, Windsor Locks.
Besides
his loving wife of 10 years, he is survived by two sons,
Robert and Bryan Brule, both of Windsor; a brother and
sister-in-law, Ernest and Patricia Heath of Enfield; a
niece, Debbie Harley and her husband Timothy; a nephew,
Ernest Heath, Jr. and other loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (Oct. 19, 1998)
12 noon, in the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816
Poquonock Avenue, Windsor. Burial will be in Elm Grove
Cemetery, Windsor. His family will receive friends at
the funeral home on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday
from 11-12 noon.

CREIGHTON, Gilbert C.
Gilbert C. "Gibby" Creighton, 57, beloved husband of
Catherine (Morris) Creighton, died peacefully on Tuesday
(December 14, 2010), at his home, surrounded by his
family after a short battle with brain cancer.
He
was born on November 20, 1953 in Westfield, MA, son of
the late Thomas and Arlene (Gilbert) Creighton. Gibby
grew up in
Granby and was a graduate of Granby Memorial High School
with the Class of 1972. He worked as a supervisor for
Simscroft Echo Farms in Simsbury for 33 years.
Gibby enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. He
was always willing to lend a helping hand and would help
anyone in need.
Gibby was a kind, loving and family oriented man who
will be greatly missed by all. Besides Cathy, his best
friend and wife of 29 years, he leaves his children,
Abbie Creighton of Suffield, Brent Creighton of
Manchester and Brigette Creighton of Avon and his three
grandchildren. Also leaves, his brother, Thomas
Creighton Jr. and his wife Laura of Venice, FL, his
sisters, Joanne Washburn of East Granby and Marion
Quigley and her husband Jeb Langevin of Tariffville, a
sister-in-law, Deb Heneghan and her husband John of
Bolton and a brother-in-law, Michael Morris and his wife
Esther of Barkhamstead and his loving boys, Walter,
Reily and Keegan. He also leaves behind many beloved
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was
predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert Washburn.

Beverly J. (Albanes) Parkhurst,
49, of Westfield died Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at
home. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut and was the
daughter of the late John R. Albanes who died in 2002.
Beverly was a homemaker and resident
of Westfield for the past 22 years. She leaves her
husband of 18 yrs. Joel W. Parkhurst and two daughters
Jessica Kellogg of Westfield, and Rebecca Kellogg of
Granby, Connecticut, and her mother Pauline (Ransom)
Albanes.
A graveside service for Beverly will
be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 7 in Pine Hill
Cemetery, Westfield, Massachusetts.

BettyAnn Pare Dumas,
59 died April 14 2012 at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home
where she had resided for 11 years.
Born in Hartford, CT on November 23, 1953 she was the
daughter of Raymond and Edith Casey Pare. Mrs. Dumas
was employed by the Servants of Jesus and Mary and an
active boy scout leader from 1990 to 2000. She was the
current president of the Red Hat Society at Alice Hyde
Nursing Home.
On October 23, 1976 she married Russell W. Dumas in
Granby CT, he survives as well as their son Travis J.
Dumas of Malone, NY. Step mother Barbara Pare of CT,
Brothers Clinton Pare, Raymond Pare Jr, and Alan Slamons.
Sisters Linda Therrien, Diane Tackett and Helen Olsen.
She was predeceased by her parents and a sister Nancy.

(Barnes) Kent, 50, of Suffield, beloved wife of James
Kent, passed away suddenly Saturday, (March 20, 2004).
Born in Hartford, April 1, 1953, she was the daughter of
Francis Barnes of St. Petersburg, FL and Dorothy (Stenner)
Barnes of Granby.
Linda
graduated from Granby High School and attended the Morse
School of Business. She lived in Granby most of her life
and spent the last 20 years in Suffield, where she
enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, kayaking and
photography. She was a self employed home cleaning
contractor.
Besides
her husband and parents, Linda is survived by a son,
Jason S. Soucie of Barkhamsted; two sisters, Debra Most
of Granby and Virginia Clark of Schenectady, NY; and a
brother, Ernie Barnes of Boulder, CO.
A
memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2004
